Summer Update

Wowzas this summer has been eventful! Following on from our last blog, the summer disco was really successful. Lots of people showed up, we had a last minute crisis with the music but it all worked out luckily. We thought it was even better than the Valentine's Disco because we learnt from experience. Along with babysitting and dogwalking we have had a very successful summer in terms of fundraising and we hope to continue in this style :) We are both more than half way there, it's going well.
We are planning another disco with a red carpet theme for Christmas - we have found a really good decoration place online that is really good value and reliable.
We are also planning to go carol singing and do bag packing before Christmas. The plan is to have raised all our money before our gcses so we don't have to worry about it during them.
Till next time!

Summer Disco

The valentines disco was such a success that we have arranged a summer disco to take place on June the 11th. It will be beach themed to help everyone relax after the exams.

We did it!

We are very happy to say that on April 17th we went up to Buxton Bridge in Derbyshire and did our World Challenge sponsored abseil. After a four hour car journey we finally arrived in Buxton, where luckily the sun was shining. When we got to the bridge we peered nervously over the edge, it looked so high from the top. After anxiously deciding which order to go in, much to Connie's dismay we decided that she should go first because she was really scared so she should get it over and done with. Our friend Jess came with us and because we were able to do it in pairs Connie went down with Jess. In order to get to the edge we had to climb over a railing, it was really strange because even though you were very secure with ropes there was an ominous feeling that you could fall at any moment. We had to lean backwards over the edge which was about the scariest part, second to when you had to jump off the wall and free fall! The wall was so high that it seemed to take ages to go down but we finally reached the ground. Although the experience was scary and challenging, it was also incredibly fulfilling! We were so happy when we got to the bottom and jumped at the chance of going down again. The second time was a lot more enjoyable because we knew what to expect. Overall it was a great experience and even though Connie hasn't quite cured her fear of heights she has definitely made progress! We would like to say thank you to everyone who sponsored us, we are incredibly grateful and are now well on our way with our fundraising.

Sponsored abseil

Hi,
On April 17th we're abseiling off a disused railway bridge in Buxton, Derbyshire. It's over 80 feet high - that's over three average two story houses. Plus Connie is very frightened of heights so it will be extra difficult for her. We were meant to be doing an absiel off Baitings Dam however Yorkshire Water cancelled the event because of cracks in the wall therefore our places have been automatically transferred. We are looking forward to the challenge however we must make sure we get enough sponsors because we are hoping to raise around £300 each!

Name the duck!

Connie did a successful stall at the school's Easter fair. Name the giant fluffy duck. It went really well and the duck went to a little girl in nursery. It's name... quacky!

Unfortunately we didn't manage to get any pictures however here is Paris Hilton with a similar teddy! You see, everyones getting into the easter spirit.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition, it helped Connie to raise £65 pounds towards her fundraising.

Valentines Disco Success

The disco was a great success, everybody had a great time and it went really well. Below are some photos. We have a lot of sweets and chocolate left over so we are going to do a tuck shop at school. We would both like to say a great big thank you to everyone who helped us out. We couldn't have done it without you :)

Thanks Guys, hope everyone has had a nice half term!

Panic! At the Disco

Planning for the disco is getting a little bit complicated, because we're trying to work out if it will be financially viable with all the changes that are having to be made. Ticket prices etc. Hopefully we will manage to get the planning under control by next week. It seems a shame that we have put so much work into a project we originally thought would be one of our main fundraising events, but now, although it is still a big event, we are unsure if the profit is going to be worth the effort when we take away the costs away from the total.

Hopefully we can think of some more fundraising events to do in March!
